I am a Christian and Flawed…

I am a Christian and Flawed…

As women of faith we walk around wearing this invisible mask hiding our pain. Suffering in silence. We thought once we gave our life to Christ, this pain would go away. But the past is always peeking its ugly head in our present moment. The very things we try to run from keep following us.

God uses our problems to “INSPECT” us. He wants you to see what you are made of. Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. Sometimes, unfortunately, we have to be placed back on the potter’s wheel to be remolded. This is not always a fun process but it is necessary in order to smooth out some of the flaws that God says must go! God has to get Egypt out of us before we can walk into the promise land.

As we mature in the word, we learn God loves us no matter what, because in our imperfection is his perfection. We never can mount up to what the “expectation we think God holds for us”. But never the less God loves us just the way we are.

The Bible teaches us about Well-known men and women in the Bible who were flawed. Some would even call them failures in present times.

Here are a few stories in the bible in which God shows their imperfections but he still loved them. The stories of Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, and even Hosea are examples of serious family dysfunction. Although the Bible praises Solomon as the wisest man in the world, he had a serious sex addiction (1 Kings 11). Jacob was a pathological deceiver (Gen. 27) and Noah a drunk (Gen. 9:20–21). Both Moses (Numbers 20:11) and King Saul struggled with anger. David, a man after God’s own heart, fell into sinful pride and adultery. Even the prophets of God struggled with impurity, depression, unfaithful spouses and broken families. Just so you know you are in good company. God used them in spite of their imperfections.

But here is the good news. God’s grace can cover our flaws and His power will enable us to accomplish His work.

The Holy Spirit is the teacher and the power of God working in you. You may have little confidence in yourself, but you can have full confidence in the Holy Spirit in you!

It means you are not limited to personal change and accomplishment in your own strength. It means you can believe and trust in the power of God at work in you through the Holy Spirit.

We are all a work in progress, walk in thankfulness of God’s Grace and Mercy for you.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:14”
